Swedish: Danny Saucedo - 'Så som i himlen'

Title: 'As In Heaven'. Danny Saucedo shot to fame as a contestant on the 2006 season of Swedish Idol. Since then he has had many hits both on his own and as part of the group EMD. He is also a prolific songwriter.

Romanian: Ruby featuring Dorian Popa - 'Buna, ce mai zici?'

Title: 'Hi, What Do You Say?'. Dorian Popa is a famous Romanian actor.

Swedish: Triad - 'Tänd Ett Ljus'

Title: 'Light A Candle'. Triad were big in the 80s in Sweden and this was their biggest hit by far, reaching number 1 in January 1988. It has since become a Christmas classic. Enjoy!

Romanian: Feli - 'Creioane colorate'

Title: 'Crayons'. Feli came to fame as a contestant on The Voice of Romania.

Spanish: Malú - 'Quiero'

Title: 'I Want'. Malu is a huge star in Spain, having at least 11 studio albums to her name. This is her current single:

Romanian: Carla's Dreams - 'Te Rog'

Title: 'Please'. Nobody quite knows who Carla's Dreams are as they always perform anonymously and only appear in videos in disguise. They formed in 2012 in Chisinau, Moldova.

Spanish: Pablo López featuring Juanes - 'Tu Enemigo'

Title: 'Your Enemy'.

Romanian: Aline Eremia - 'A fost o nebunie'

Title: 'It Was Crazy'. Alina Eremia was the Romanian voice of Pocahontas in the Disney films and she has taken part in the Romanian version of Strictly Come Dancing.

German: Frida Gold - 'Liebe ist meine Rebellion'

Title: 'Love Is My Rebellion'. Frida Gold's only top ten hit includes a sample from Gala's 'Freed From Desire' from 1997.

German: Andreas Bourani - 'Auf anderen Wegen'

Title: 'On Different Paths'. This is Andreas Bourani's second single from his second studio album.

German: Maxim - 'Alles versucht'

Title: 'Tried Everything'. This is from Maxim's fourth album. His early work was reggae inspired.

Hungarian: Kati Wolf: 'Szerelem, miért múlsz?'

Title: 'What About My Life?'. The English version of this was Hungary's Eurovision entry in 2011, but I think the original Hungarian version sounds much better.

Polish: Ewa Farna - 'Tu'

Title: 'Here'. Ewa Farna sings in Czech as well as Polish and is often a judge on TV talent shows in the Czech Republic and in Poland.

Finnish: Juulia - 'Vakavaa'

Title: 'Serious'.

Italian: Malika Ayane - 'Tempesta'

Title: 'Storm'. Before Malika Ayane got a recording deal, she used to sing jingles on Italian adverts.

Finnish: Keko Salata - 'Melkein Kuollut'

Title: 'Nearly Died'.

Greek: Nikos Ikonomopoulos - 'ΑΝ ΠΟΝΑΣ'

Dutch: K3 - '10,000 Luchtballonnen'

Title: '10,000 Balloons'. K3 started off in 1998 as the Flemish answer to the Spice Girls. Since then the original members have all left one by one so that the band you see today is the same in name only.

Norwegian: Karpe Diem - 'Hvite menn som pusher 50'

Title: 'White Men Pushing 50'. This got to number 8 in the Norwegian singles chart earlier this year. It's from Karpe Diem's album Heisann Montebello.

German: Philipp Dittberner - 'Das ist dein Leben'

Title: 'This Is Your Life'. This is Berliner Philipp Dittberner's second single from his album 2:33.

Norwegian: Karpe Diem - 'Lett å være rebell i kjellerleiligheten din'

Title: 'Easy To Be A Rebel In A Basement Apartment'. Karpe Diem have been making music since 2000 and are now on their fifth studio album. This single peaked at number 3 in the Norwegian charts earlier this year:

German: Silbermond - 'Leichtes Gepäck'

Title: 'Light Luggage'. This is Silbermond's first single from their fifth studo album, of the same name:

Swedish: Caroline Af Ugglas - 'Hon Har Inte'

Title: 'She Has Not'. Caroline Af Ugglas devised the format for a TV show featuring duelling choirs that has been sold worldwide. When not dreaming of TV formats, she enters Melodifestivalen with amazing songs like this from 2013. There's no official music video, but when a singer performs with this much passion live, the Melfest performance is even more of a treat:

Hungarian: ByeAlex - 'Nekemte'

Title: 'Nekemte'. The title refers to a town in Ethiopia. ByeAlex represented Hungary at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2013. This is a follow up single from later that year:

German: Xavier Naidoo - 'Alles kann besser werden'

Title: 'Everything Can Get Better'. Xavier Naidoo is one of Germany's most successful singers, with 8 albums and several awards to his name. He's already been selected to sing for Germany at 2016's Eurovision Song Contest. Hopefully the German public will pick him a song in German rather than English. UPDATE: German broadcaster NDR has changed its mind and said that Naidoo will not now be going to Eurovision. This seems to be based on people misinterpreting a couple of lines from two of his songs and pretending to be outraged at it when they probably haven't actually listened to the songs in question. Here's one of his biggest hits, from 2009:

Swedish: Danny Saucedo featuring Malcolm B: 'Brinner i bröstet'

Title: 'Burning Heart'. Danny Saucedo with an extremely well-choreographed video. The whole world should be choreographed by Swedes! Fingers crossed we might see Danny return as a competitor in Melodifestivalen 2016.

German: Silbermond: 'Ja'

Title: 'Yes'. Silbermond formed in Saxony in 2000 and have always sung in the German language. This from 2012 was their sixteenth chart hit:

Italian: Emma - 'Occhi Profondi'

Title: 'Deep Eyes'. This woman bears more than a slight resemblance to first lady of German comedy and co-host of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, Anke Engelke. If Anke could sing. In Italian. Emma doesn't use her surname, which with a name like that makes it very difficult to find anything out about her. Other than that she looks a bit like Anke Engelke.

French: ZOË - 'Mon coeur a trop aimé'

Title: 'My Heart Too Fond'. Zoe is also the name of a French nuclear reactor, which is unfortunately all I get when I Google her name, so if you know anything about her, please leave a comment once you've viewed her latest single:

Finnish: Nikke Ankara - 'Värifilmi'

Title: 'Colour Film'. Nikke Ankara apparently decided in January not to make any more music. Well that didn't last long as he's made this, his first Finnish number one single:

Estonian: Karl-Erik Taukar - 'Segased Lood'

Title: 'The Mixed Stories'. Karl-Erik Taukar was brought to the world's attention in an Estonian talent show in 2012. By 2015 he entered Eesti Laul, Estonia's selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest. This is his current single:

Hungarian: Golden Coast - 'Menj tovább'

Title: 'Go Further'. I can't find any information about Golden Coast, other than that they've recently had this in the Hungarian charts. Know any more? Comment please!

Hungarian: Wellhello - 'GYERE ÉS TÁNCOLJ'

Title: 'Come and Dance'. Wellhello have had two number one hits in Hungary this year, the only number ones not sung in English. This is from September:

Title: 'Whatever'. Rasmus Seebach is a long established artist in Denmark. From earlier this year, this is his fifth Danish number one:

German: Sarah Connor - 'Bedingungslos'

Title: 'Unconditional'. Sarah Connor was the first artist to have four consecutive singles all reach number one in Germany. She has one of those voices that really brings out the beauty of the German language.

French: Louane - 'Avenir'

Title: 'Future'. Louane is an actress a well as a singer. This is her most successful single to date, reaching number one in France and number three next door in Germany:

Swedish: Albin featuring Kristin Amparo - 'Din soldat'

Title: 'Your Soldier'. Albin scored a number one in 2014 in Sweden with this hit featuring Kristin Amparo, who went on to compete in Melodifestivalen 2015. She first came to fame in the 2012 season of Swedish X Factor.

Serbo-Croat: Tajci - 'Hajde Da Ludujemo'

Title: 'Somewhere In'. This was Yugoslavia's last ever Eurovision entry, in 1990, before the country was torn apart by war. Tajci has since moved to the USA and now sings church music.

German: Gestört aber GeiL feat. Sebastian Hämer - 'Ich & Du'

Title: 'Me & You'. Sebastian Hämer had three solo hits in 2006 and 2007. This collaboration with Gestört Aber Geil is his big comeback:

Title: 'Remember Me'. Pablo Alborán has had six number ones in Spain. His current single got to a respectable number five:

Italian: Baby K featuring Giusy Ferreri - 'Roma - Bangkok'

Here's the current number one song in Italy, titled 'Rome - Bangkok'. Baby K was born in Singapore but is a well established rapper in Italy. This year she scored her first Italian number one, with this:

Czech: Ewa Farna - 'Mám boky jako skříň'

Title: 'I Have Hips Like A Cupboard'. That's what Google translates it as anyway. Ewa Farna has had many hits in both the Czech Republic and Poland. She's a judge on Polish X Factor.

Swedish: Annika Herlitz - 'Ett andetag'

Title: 'One Breath'. Annika Herlitz was one of the voiceovers for the dubbed Swedish version of the film Frozen. Here she is competing at 2015's Melodifestivalen:

French: RIDSA - 'Le c'est die'

Title: 'The Die Is'. Ridsa has two successful albums, but this is his first song to make into the French top ten. I'm sure it will be the first of many.
